Window Jamb Extensions and Trim
Window jamb is a component that connects the interior wall to the window. It is added to the inside edge of the window to make up the difference between aluminum or vinyl window and wall depth.
If the windows you want to buy do not match the wall thickness, then the most efficient solution to this problem is fitting them with jamb extensions.
Window jamb has another practical application since it is often used as a shelf for holding plants or other decorative or household items.
Casing is a type of finishing moulding that covers a gap between the window jamb and the interior wall and provides an attractive aesthetic appearance.
We supply wood jamb extensions and matching trim in the following species: finger joint pine and solid oak.
We also offer jamb extensions and trim in maintenance-free vinyl and composite materials.
Vinyl jamb extensions and trim are maintenance-free as they require no painting, won’t discolour, absorb moisture, rot, warp or swell.
Composite jamb extensions and trim are made from solid PVC (plastic). They are significantly more expensive and have a smooth non textured surface. If you choose composite jamb extensions, then at the finishing stage you can use either a wood or a composite casing.
